An AI coaching tool that gives financial advisors detailed feedback on LinkedIn drafts before they publish.
How Adam acquired customers
Tools used to build InfluenceLab
Adam Knorr turned years of manual LinkedIn editing for financial advisors into InfluenceLab, a $49/month AI coaching SaaS that reached $5,651 MRR from 119 paying users by selling to a niche he already served.
Adam Knorr did not start InfluenceLab by chasing a broad AI writing market. He already knew a very specific buyer: financial advisors who wanted LinkedIn to bring them trust, reach, and client conversations. Before the SaaS existed, he had spent years ghostwriting and editing posts for that audience, including a manual post-editing offer where clients sent him drafts and received detailed explanations of what to fix. The product idea was hiding inside that service work.
The twist was to productize coaching instead of replacing the writer. InfluenceLab asks advisors to paste their own LinkedIn draft and then gives pointed feedback on the hook, story, specificity, structure, and call to action. The landing page is explicit that it does not rewrite posts for users. It coaches them through making the draft better, using Adam's real editing concepts and feedback history as the foundation. That made the tool narrower, harsher, and more trusted than a generic chatbot.
Ben A. Wise brought the technical side, and the pair launched in February 2026 with beta users instead of a big public campaign. Adam charged early testers $19/month so they had skin in the game, then moved the public product to $49/month. Nine days after launch, Adam posted that InfluenceLab.io had reached $1,584 MRR from 33 paying users and 13 free-trial users. That early revenue came from the same channel the product served: Adam's LinkedIn posts, DMs, existing advisor relationships, and referrals.
By the May 2026 Starter Story profile, InfluenceLab had 119 paying users and $5,651 MRR. The lesson is not that every niche needs another AI writer. It is that a trusted expert with years of messy, specific feedback can turn judgment into software when the market is narrow enough. InfluenceLab sells because it feels like Adam's editorial brain pointed at one buyer, not a general-purpose content machine trying to speak to everyone.
Productize a painful manual service only after you have seen the same mistake hundreds of times.
A narrow niche can make an AI product more credible: InfluenceLab is for financial advisors, not everyone who writes online.
Charge beta users even when the product is young so feedback comes from people who care enough to pay.
Distribution is easier when the product sells to the same audience that already follows the founder's advice.
Coaching can be a stronger AI positioning than replacement when customers want to improve their own skill.
You have the story. Make it actionable: what worked, what to copy, what to avoid, and which channel to test first.
