How Kostya acquired customers
Tools used to build Seline Analytics
Kostya Nesterovich's Seline Analytics reached $1K MRR after 16 months, despite a domain migration that knocked the homepage out of Google for exactly six months.
Seline Analytics did not reach $1K MRR in a straight line. Kostya Nesterovich built it as a simple, privacy-friendly alternative to Google Analytics, but a domain move from .so to .com created a brutal growth stall. For exactly six months, even the homepage disappeared from Google search.
That could have been fatal for a small analytics product trying to earn trust through organic discovery. Instead, Kostya kept improving the product: faster dashboards for millions of events, an AI analytics chat, a public API, native WordPress and Framer integrations, and many small quality-of-life improvements. When search visibility stabilized, growth resumed even though he was posting less on X and experimenting less aggressively with distribution.
In January 2026, Seline crossed $1,000 MRR after 16 months. Kostya's reflection was not a victory lap about revenue screenshots; it was a reminder that growth comes from unpredictable places. A small Reddit comment can start a customer relationship, a modest X post can reach someone tracking millions of events, and a minor feature can be the final reason someone signs up. At $1K MRR, Seline's bottleneck had shifted from product to distribution.
A technical SEO mistake can stall growth for months, so migrations need as much care as product launches.
Keep improving the product during distribution stalls so recovered traffic has more reasons to convert.
Small comments, posts and releases can compound into customers even without a viral channel.
At early revenue, the bottleneck may move from building to reaching enough qualified visitors.
