Founder stories
MRR Story reports Lorik Morina's week-21 portfolio revenue as $6,772 MRR, split into $6,512 app revenue and $260 web revenue. The product-specific amount uses the app portion for RotateProduct and leaves SecureVibing's separate web revenue out of currentRevenue.
AI-powered product-video software that turns one static product photo into a rotating 3D video for ecommerce listings, ads and Shopify stores.
How Lorik acquired customers
Tools used to build RotateProduct
Lorik Morina did not wait for a viral launch. He took a 33-download, zero-MRR first day, layered Hacker News, $20/day Meta ads, Shopify App Store distribution and referral loops, and grew RotateProduct's app revenue to about $6.5K MRR by week 21.
Lorik Morina had spent years building Laravel systems and client tools before he decided to build products for himself. RotateProduct came from a practical ecommerce pain: static product photos leave buyers guessing, while custom 3D shoots and product videos are expensive. He turned that into a simple promise for merchants: upload one product photo, get a rotating AI-generated video that can be used on product pages, social posts and ads.
Lorik did not avoid competition. He treated existing demand for ecommerce visuals as a signal, then narrowed the wedge to speed and accessibility. RotateProduct's public site and Shopify listing both anchor the same use case: create realistic rotating videos from static product images without a studio, 3D model file or manual editing. Pricing also stayed simple, with monthly plans for web users and a Shopify model that charges per successfully generated video.
The first day was not glamorous: 33 downloads and zero MRR. Lorik kept the feedback loop moving instead of waiting for a breakout post. A Hacker News launch brought more than 30 signups and crossed the first $100 MRR within two weeks. From there he tested paid demand with Meta ads at about $20 per day, using the small daily budget as validation rather than vanity spend.
By week 21, MRR Story reported $6,772 in portfolio MRR, with $6,512 coming from app revenue and $260 from web revenue. RotateProduct's growth engine was not one channel. Paid ads bought steady tests, the Shopify App Store put the product in front of merchants already searching for sales tools, referral rewards let store owners pull in peers, and long-tail SEO targeted specific searches such as AI 3D rotating product videos for Shopify. Lorik also built in public on X and used SecureVibing, his security scanner, as a credibility engine with other indie hackers.
RotateProduct is a reminder that boring acquisition math can be a founder story too. The useful pattern is not that every indie product should copy Meta ads. It is that Lorik matched channels to buying intent, kept the first budget small enough to learn safely, and let each channel strengthen the next one.
A saturated market can be a demand signal if the product has a sharper wedge than incumbents.
Small paid-ad budgets can validate acquisition economics without pretending to be a growth hack.
Marketplace intent, referral loops and long-tail SEO compound better when they all point at the same buyer pain.
Portfolio products can reinforce trust, but revenue should still be attributed to the specific product that earned it.
You have the story. Make it actionable: what worked, what to copy, what to avoid, and which channel to test first.
