How Pratham acquired customers
Tools used to build Bearconnect
Pratham Naik grew Bearconnect to $2.4K MRR by starting with 80 direct messages, then pausing outreach to fix churn before scaling personalized outbound again.
Pratham Naik did not start Bearconnect with paid ads, a Product Hunt launch or months of audience building. He went straight to agency owners already discussing LinkedIn account-management problems, sent about 80 direct messages in one week, and offered free access in exchange for blunt feedback. Twelve people replied, eight actually used the product, and three converted to paid within two weeks, creating the first $201 MRR.
The early users changed his understanding of the product. He expected automation to be the hook, but agencies cared more about managing several LinkedIn accounts without operational chaos. Pricing was also confusing: the original $67/month flat message made agencies think ten accounts would cost $670/month. Pratham clarified it as $67 per connected account, with a volume discount for five or more accounts.
Then churn became the real problem. Instead of continuing outreach, he stopped acquisition for three weeks and talked only to churned users. They had connected accounts, set up one campaign, and forgotten the product because onboarding assumed they already knew automation tools. He rebuilt onboarding around a five-minute setup wizard, cloneable campaign templates and a unified inbox, then messaged churned customers again. Six returned and four stayed past month two.
Only after retention improved did Pratham restart outbound. Two hours of personalized LinkedIn messages every morning took Bearconnect to about $1,200 MRR in six weeks. He then used Bearconnect to sell Bearconnect: scheduling his own posts, sharing customer wins, managing his personal and company pages, and posting the resulting lessons on Reddit and Indie Hackers. That product-led feedback loop helped push the business to roughly $2,400 MRR without paid ads or a large audience.
Direct outreach works better when it is framed as feedback from people already discussing the pain.
Early users may reveal that the value proposition is operational clarity, not the feature the founder expected.
Pausing acquisition to fix churn can make every later outreach hour compound instead of replacing lost customers.
Using the product in the founder's own sales workflow creates more credible content than generic growth advice.
