How Davis acquired customers
Tools used to build Printful
Davis Siksnans started printing t-shirts in his co-founder's garage at age 22 and built Printful to $1B+ valuation.
"He started with a three-person team making t-shirts in the garage of his business partner." Davis Siksnans built Latvia's first unicorn from humble beginnings.
Before Printful, there was Startup Vitamins - an online store selling motivational posters. "We wanted to put inspirational startup quotes on our office walls but couldn't find quotes on the internet to buy as posters."
"At first, we printed posters in our co-founder's living room, but the more orders we got, the less feasible it became to continue operating out of that tiny space."
They realized the demand wasn't for posters - it was for the printing service itself. In 2013, at age 22, Davis co-founded Printful.
In just six years, Printful grew from 5 to 500+ employees across the USA, Mexico, and Europe. The company became a leader in print-on-demand dropshipping.
Printful reached over $300M in revenue and achieved unicorn status ($1B+ valuation), becoming the first Latvian company to do so. Davis received the Order of the Three Stars, the highest civilian honor in Latvia.
"The way I overcome my failures is – I learn from my mistakes and accept that failures are inevitable." Davis later stepped down as CEO, proving founders can know when to hand over leadership.
