In December 2017, I started building my Shopify store, just like hundreds of new retailers do every day. But unlike most, I hit $200,000 in three months.
I was working as a restaurant manager, driven by a desire for freedom and self-reliance. I saw dropshipping as my path out.
I chose the pets niche because pet owners are passionate buyers. They'll spend money on products for their animals without much hesitation.
I used Spocket to source products from US and EU suppliers instead of China. Yes, margins are tighter, but shipping times of 2-5 days instead of 2-4 weeks means happier customers and fewer refund requests.
My strategy was aggressive Facebook advertising. I tested many products, found winners, and scaled the ads. At my peak, I was making over $7,000 a day in revenue.
