How Steve acquired customers
Tools used to build Nerd Fitness
Steve Kamb turned his nerdy approach to fitness into a 7-figure business with 300K+ email subscribers.
I decided to start a business that catered to a very small niche that didn't exist yet - nerds that wanted to get in shape. Two days later, NerdFitness.com was born.
I started strength training as a junior in high school after getting cut from my basketball team. It took me six years of mistakes and wasted effort until I finally figured out how to combine proper nutrition with strength training.
In January 2009, I launched NerdFitness.com to help people avoid the mistakes I made. I didn't have any marketing strategy - I just wrote content that people wanted to share.
After 18 months building the site as a side project, I quit my day job in June 2010 to focus on Nerd Fitness full-time. Since then, I've spent 18 months traveling the globe, visiting six continents.
I have three ebooks for sale: the Rebel Fitness Guide, Rebel Running Guide, and Rebel Strength Guide. These ebooks account for 80-90% of my monthly revenue.
The community grew so large that I was invited to guest lecture at Google, Google Dublin, Facebook, and TEDxEmory in Atlanta.
