Founder stories
MRR Story reports Pep AI scaled to about $60K MRR within a few months of its early-2026 launch. Starter Story separately shows a RevenueCat dashboard around seven weeks after launch with about $11K MRR and nearly 2,000 active subscriptions; encoded the $10K milestone at that conservative seven-week boundary.
Mobile app for peptide and GLP-1 record-keeping, dose logs, inventory, injection-site rotation, side effects, nutrition, hydration, Apple Health sync, and educational reference, with medical-advice disclaimers.
How Cedric acquired customers
Tools used to build Pep AI
Cedric Roberge found a fast-growing GLP-1 and peptide tracking niche, launched Pep AI quickly, then combined Reddit validation with creator-led distribution to reach a reported $60K MRR.
Cedric Roberge did not start Pep AI by chasing a generic fitness-app idea. The Starter Story interview identifies him as a 22-year-old University of Oregon business student who had already learned from a campus marketplace app that broad products are hard to monetize. For Pep AI, he looked for a sharper niche: people using peptides and GLP-1s were talking on Reddit, Discord, TikTok, and Instagram, but many were still tracking doses, side effects, injection sites, and vial details with spreadsheets, notes, or memory.
The first version stayed narrow. Starter Story says Cedric launched Pep AI on the App Store in mid-February 2026 after building quickly with Replit and Claude, and that the first paying subscriber arrived within the first hour of the app being live. The early product was not a medical-advice engine; it solved organization. The App Store listing now describes Pep AI as an all-in-one record-keeping system for doses, inventory, nutrition, hydration, sleep, side effects, progress tracking, and educational reference, while explicitly saying it is not medical advice and that users should consult healthcare providers for medical decisions.
Validation came before scale. Cedric posted in peptide-focused Reddit and Discord communities where people were already complaining about messy tracking. Starter Story says one Reddit post drove more than 300 downloads in 48 hours, and the launch reached 2,000 users and more than $4,000 revenue in two weeks. A later Starter Story video/transcript shows the business at roughly $11K MRR, nearly 2,000 active subscriptions, and $51K total revenue about seven weeks after launch, with a $10 monthly subscription and $45 yearly plan.
MRR Story then captures the bigger jump: by May 2026, Pep AI was reported at about $60K MRR. The channel mix also changed. Cedric kept using community demand and App Store intent, but the standout step was paid creator distribution: MRR Story says he made a $30,000 influencer-marketing bet in one month and that the spend generated about $60,000 revenue in the same month. The useful lesson is not that every founder should copy a health niche or spend aggressively. It is that Cedric had already validated urgent demand, knew where buyers listened, and used paid creator reach only after the product's first community loop showed people would subscribe.
Niche selection can matter more than product novelty when buyers already feel a repeated, risky tracking pain.
A small launch can validate willingness to pay if the first version solves the core organization job instead of trying to be a full platform.
Creator spend is less reckless when it follows proof from unpaid communities and targets creators the audience already trusts.
Health-adjacent products need clear boundaries: record-keeping and education are different from medical advice.
