How Paul acquired customers
Tools used to build ChatSEO
Paul Vengeons, Nicholas Dulait, and Léo Leducq turned an SEO coaching relationship into ChatSEO, then used beta calls, founder-led audience, free tools, and personalized organic distribution to reach about €14K MRR in roughly three months.
ChatSEO did not begin as a generic AI wrapper looking for a market. The origin story was a paid SEO coaching call: Nicholas Dulait paid Paul Vengeons €200 to help with SEO for his previous startup. A few months later, Nicholas emailed Paul about building an AI SEO product together, then the team added Léo Leducq as the SaaS-focused technical co-founder.
The product wedge was specific: connect to Google Search Console and turn raw SEO data into prioritized answers a founder or website owner can act on. Instead of asking customers to interpret Semrush-style dashboards, ChatSEO positions itself as the SEO expert that already knows your site. The live product now describes an AI SEO chatbot/agent connected to Search Console, Analytics, CMS data, DataForSEO, MCP/API workflows, and content/audit tools.
The team validated with two beta waves before scaling. First, 100 free users were allowed in only if they joined feedback calls. The second wave tested a paywall, and people paid. From there, growth came from an 8-channel organic system: Paul’s LinkedIn audience and newsletter, SEO playbooks, YouTube tutorials, free micro-tools, personalized LinkedIn outbound, SEO, and founder-led proof.
By the MRR Story interview in May 2026, ChatSEO reported around €14,000 MRR in roughly three months and €70,000 total revenue in the first five months, with no paid ads. The useful lesson is not simply "post on LinkedIn". ChatSEO worked because the founders turned existing SEO consulting trust into a narrow software promise, then used the product itself to give prospects concrete audits and action plans before asking for money.
Start from paid expertise or a consulting interaction when it reveals a repeatable software job.
Use beta access as a learning contract: free users only count if they give structured feedback.
Separate a primary trust channel from a repeatable channel system; ChatSEO combined audience, education, free tools, SEO, and personalized outbound.
Do not market an AI tool as magic; anchor it to real data sources and specific customer decisions.
You have the story. Make it actionable: what worked, what to copy, what to avoid, and which channel to test first.
