Sergiu created a meta-directory listing AI tool directories, reaching $10K revenue by helping AI startups get discovered.
AI Directories started as a simple idea: help AI tools get discovered by listing all the directories where they could submit.
The Concept
With the AI boom, hundreds of directories popped up to list AI tools. But founders were overwhelmed - which directories matter? Which are worth the submission fee? I created a directory of directories to solve this.
Building in Public
I shared my progress on Twitter, which helped build an audience before the product was even finished. The indie hacker community on Twitter became my first customers.
Growth to $10K
By June 2024, I hit $10K in total revenue. The business model was simple - charge a one-time fee for premium listings and featured placements.
